Dear Reader, Now that you have looked over these
pages TO
HELP CONGREGATIONS BE MORE Boy-Friendly … perhaps you have already begun to imagine how you could make
your congregation's Religious Education programs more boy-friendly. We hope
these pages prove to be helpful and stimulating. Now please ask yourself this
question: HOW CAN I HELP SOME OF THE BOYS AND
THEIR PARENT(S) OWN SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES OUR CONGEGATION
MIGHT PROVIDE? The answer to that question could make all the difference in the
world, if you have in mind some boys who may not have been attending church
school very much recently, and you hope to reach out to them. The question suggests involvement of some of those boys and their
parents at the start, during the planning stage. You can welcome suggestions
from and some leadership by them. Please be sure that you check with other
teachers on your teaching team and church staff before you begin your planning
and share with them your intentions and goals. We at the UU Men's Network would love to hear about your efforts
and perhaps publish news about your activities in our Happy planning and best wishes,
— Frank Robertson on behalf of the
rest of the 2003 UUMeN Steering Council
